How Do I Renew My Lionel University CPT Credential?

Lionel University CPT graduates can renew their credential through one of two available renewal paths. Both options cost $99 and result in an updated, non-expiring CPT credential. No exam retake is required.

Option 1: Submit CEUs for Review

Choose this option when you have completed all required continuing education and can provide documentation.

You will need:

  • Documentation showing completion of 2.0 CEUs
  • A current CPR/AED certification
  • Supporting certificates or records for each completed continuing education activity
  • Payment of the $99 renewal fee

After your documentation is submitted, Lionel University will review the materials and issue your updated CPT certificate once all requirements have been verified. The current renewal page states that applicants using the CEU path must have both the required CEUs and current CPR/AED documentation.

Option 2: Complete the Updated CPT Renewal Course

Choose this option when:

  • You do not have the required CEUs
  • You only have CPR/AED documentation
  • Your CEU documentation is incomplete
  • You prefer a faster, course-based renewal process

To complete the course-based renewal:

  1. Pay the $99 CPT renewal fee.
  2. Receive access to the updated Lionel Global CPT course.
  3. Complete the assigned course requirements.
  4. Notify Lionel University Support after completion.
  5. Lionel verifies your course completion and issues your updated, non-expiring CPT certificate.

No prior CEUs are required for this option. Lionel’s renewal page describes this as the streamlined alternative for trainers who do not have CEUs or prefer to renew by completing the updated CPT course.

What Happens After I Pay?

After payment:

  • Your renewal purchase must be processed.
  • Access to the updated CPT course will be assigned through Lionel Global.
  • You will complete the assigned course.
  • Lionel University will verify completion.
  • Your updated CPT certificate will be issued.

Course access may not appear immediately after payment. Students should allow processing time before contacting Support.

I Already Submitted the Recertification Form. Why Haven’t I Been Renewed?

Submitting the form begins the review process but does not automatically complete the renewal.

Common reasons a request cannot be finalized include:

  • Missing CEU documentation
  • Fewer than 2.0 completed CEUs
  • Expired or missing CPR/AED certification
  • Missing renewal payment
  • Documents that cannot be verified
  • The updated CPT renewal course has not yet been completed

Support will advise which requirement remains outstanding.

How Do I Check My Status?

Email equinoxsupport@lionel.edu and include:

  • Your full name
  • The email address associated with your Lionel account
  • The approximate date you submitted your renewal
  • Whether you selected CEU review or the CPT renewal course
  • Confirmation that payment has been completed
