Student Information

Student Policies

Review important academic policies, grading standards, examination requirements, and enrollment expectations for Lionel University students.

Proctored Examinations

Undergraduate courses conclude with a timed, one-hour proctored examination. Online proctoring is available through the LMS and powered by Honorlock. Third-party proctors may be available upon request and approval from the Lionel Registrar's Office.

Grading & Academic Standing

Students must maintain the minimum institutional GPA required for their program:

Undergraduate programs: 2.0 institutional GPA or higher

Graduate programs: 3.0 institutional GPA or higher

Faculty generally submit assignment grades within seven days of the assignment due date and final grades within seven days of course completion. Students can monitor grades through the LMS.

Grading Scale

A — Excellent B — Good to Very Good C — Satisfactory D — Below Average F — Failing

Additional academic status codes include I (Incomplete), W (Withdrawal), AC (Administrative Cancellation), AW (Administrative Withdrawal), and IP (In Progress).

Grade Challenges

Students who believe a final course grade resulted from capricious or unprofessional grading must first contact the faculty member within seven days of the final grade being posted.

If the issue is not resolved, a formal Grade Challenge may be submitted within 21 days of the final grade posting date to studentaffairs@lionel.edu .

Term Credit Limit

Students may generally enroll in a maximum of 18 credits per quarter. Students should plan approximately 30 hours of study per quarter for each quarter credit.

Eligible students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher may request approval to exceed the 18-credit limit by contacting studentaffairs@lionel.edu .

Certificates & Diplomas

Certificates and diplomas will not be issued until all tuition and fees have been paid in full.

Official Transcripts

To order an official transcript, log in to your Populi account and navigate to:

My Profile > Student > Transcript

Click Transcript Actions, select Official Transcript Request, complete the form, confirm payment, and submit your request.

Unofficial Transcripts

To access an unofficial transcript, log in to your Populi account and navigate to:

My Profile > Student > Transcript

Click Transcript Actions and select Export Transcript. There is no charge for an unofficial transcript.

Third-Party Transcript Requests

Third parties may request official transcript credentials through Populi. Complete the request form, confirm payment, and submit.

Graduation

Graduation Requirements Overview

Degrees are conferred four times per year at the conclusion of each quarter. Students completing all degree requirements by the end of the term must submit a graduation application by the last day of class.

Diplomas are issued only to students who have successfully completed all degree requirements and submitted a graduation application. Diplomas can generally be expected 8–10 weeks after the conclusion of the student's final term. If a graduation application is not received by the deadline, the diploma will be issued at the conclusion of the following quarter.

Master's Degree Graduation Requirements

  • Earn a minimum of 45 quarter credits consisting of 20 core credits, 20 elective credits from a chosen concentration, and 5 capstone credits
  • Complete at least 23 credits through Lionel University
  • Capstone credits must be completed through Lionel University
  • Earn an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher in core coursework
  • Fulfill the academic requirements as directed by the program
  • Pay all financial obligations in full, including obligations by a third party such as military or employer tuition assistance
  • Have a photo ID on file

Bachelor's Degree Graduation Requirements

  • Earn a minimum of 180 quarter credits consisting of 45 general education credits, 75 core credits, and 30 elective credits
  • Complete at least 60 credits as structured undergraduate courses through Lionel University
  • Earn an overall GPA of 2.00 or higher
  • Maintain a GPA of 2.00 or higher in core coursework
  • Fulfill the academic requirements as directed by the degree program
  • Pay all financial obligations in full, including obligations by a third party such as military or employer tuition assistance
  • Have a photo ID on file

Associate Degree Graduation Requirements

  • Earn a minimum of 90 quarter credits consisting of 30 general education credits, 30 core credits, and 30 elective credits
  • Complete at least 30 credits as structured undergraduate courses through Lionel University
  • Earn an overall GPA of 2.00 or higher
  • Maintain a GPA of 2.00 or higher in core coursework
  • Fulfill the academic requirements as directed by the degree program
  • Pay all financial obligations in full, including obligations by a third party such as military or employer tuition assistance
  • Have a photo ID on file

Master Trainer Certificate Requirements

  • Earn a minimum of 6 certification courses totaling 30 credits
  • Complete at least 5 courses through Lionel University
  • Earn an overall GPA of 2.00 or higher
  • Fulfill the academic requirements as directed by the program
  • Pay all financial obligations in full, including obligations by a third party such as military or employer tuition assistance
  • Have a photo ID on file

  • Summer 2026: September 14th
  • Fall 2026: December 14th
  • Winter 2027: March 15th
  • Spring 2027: June 14th
