📘 Learn how previous college coursework, eligible certifications, and other qualifying experience may apply toward your Lionel University program.

Transfer Credit

Transferring Credit

Lionel University evaluates eligible prior coursework, military education, and qualifying certifications to determine how previously earned credit may apply toward your degree.

Master of Science

45 credits are needed in order to earn the master's degree. Up to 22 credits earned at another accredited institution are eligible for transfer.

Bachelor of Science

180 credits are needed in order to earn a bachelor's degree. Up to 120 credits earned at another accredited institution, through military experience and/or coursework, or through ISSA are eligible for transfer.

Associate of Science

90 credits are needed in order to earn the associate degree. Up to 60 credits earned at another accredited institution, through military experience and/or coursework, or through ISSA are eligible for transfer.

In order for previously completed undergraduate coursework to be eligible for transfer, it must have been completed with a grade of C or higher through an accredited college or university.

Credit awarded for experiential or equivalent learning, including credit-by-examination, shall not exceed 25 percent of the credits required for the degree and is only accepted into our undergraduate degrees.

Relevant NCCA-accredited or ISSA personal training certifications may be transferred in with successful passing of corresponding competency exams: BS — maximum of 4, AS — maximum of 2, Master Trainer certificate — maximum of 1.

In order for transfer credit to be awarded, Lionel University must receive an official transcript from the issuing institution. A completed application is required before a transfer credit evaluation can be conducted.
